7-Day Horseback Fly Fishing Trip
Experience the fishing adventure of a lifetime deep in the heart of the Bob Marshall Wilderness on our signature 7-day expedition. This extraordinary journey combines the thrill of horseback travel with world-class fly fishing on the pristine South Fork of the Flathead River. Your adventure begins with a two-day horseback ride into the wilderness, leading you to remote upper reaches of the river where few anglers venture. After a relaxing layover day of wade fishing in premier spots, you'll embark on an unforgettable four-day float trip downstream, where cutthroat trout eagerly rise to dry flies and bull trout chase streamers in crystal-clear waters. Our primary target is Cutthroat Trout. Skilled anglers can boat over 100 Cutthroat Trout on good days, but it is common for a boat to catch 40 native trout a day. Anglers that are fishing for Bull Trout should plan to dedicate time to a streamer rod. Bull Trout season is limited and ends July 31.
Each day brings new fishing opportunities, with evenings spent in comfortable camps featuring gourmet riverside meals and breathtaking wilderness views. This authentic backcountry experience, powered entirely by horses, mules, and dedicated guides, offers not just exceptional fishing but a genuine Montana wilderness adventure you'll never forget.
