Deep in Montana's pristine wilderness, Montana Wilderness Lodge & Outfitting offers an authentic backcountry experience steeped in tradition and enhanced by modern comfort. Established in 1950 and thoughtfully renovated in 2024 by new owners Strite and Kaitlyn Daniels, along with Dan and Tracie Casazza, our lodge maintains its rustic charm while providing essential amenities for our guests. From world-class elk hunting in some of the most remote terrains of the lower 48, to exceptional fly fishing along the South Fork of the Flathead River, we specialize in creating unforgettable wilderness adventures.
Our experienced guides, hardy mountain horses, and dedicated staff work together to ensure every aspect of your stay exceeds expectations, whether you're pursuing trophy mule deer, tracking mountain lions with our trained Walker Hounds, or casting flies in pristine waters. At the end of each adventure-filled day, return to our comfortable lodge where home-cooked, family-style meals and warm hospitality await.

Our unique position, set 15 miles into pristine wilderness with 17 miles of private access to South Fork fishing, offers unparalleled opportunities for adventure. Bordering the Sun River Game Preserve, our territory encompasses some of the most remote and untouched hunting grounds in the lower 48 states.

We pride ourselves on our professional houndsman and Walker Hounds for specialized hunts, along with our top-quality rafts and fishing equipment for river adventures.

Our renovated historic wilderness lodge offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort, featuring private cabins equipped with hot showers and propane heating. The heart of our lodge is our family-style kitchen, where fresh, hearty meals bring guests together after exciting days in the wilderness.

The Bob Marshall Wilderness does not allow motorized or mechanical equipment within Wilderness boundaries, so we take transportation back to its original form.
